Backpacking Vietnam: Day 3 & 4 Mui Ne

We left Saigon in the morning for Mui Ne on a sleeper bus which I thought only existed in Harry Potter. The bus took a really long time to get to Mui Ne because it kept stopping to pick up locals and we only reached our hotel, Sunrise Village Mui Ne at 3pm! We should have just walked to our hotel from the unnecessary lunch stop but it was really hot and it was quite a distance away. At least we didn't have to sit next to chickens, which was some of the horror stories I read about sleeper buses online.

Our hotel room was really large and quite clean and it had a nice pool where I floated around in.

The Fairy Stream

We rented bicycles from our hotel and cycled to the Fairy stream on our first day in Mui Ne. We almost missed the makeshift sign that said "This way to Fairy Stream" and I got really confused because the beginning looked like a drain but as we walked along the drain it opened up into a stream that had no resemblance to fairies. Some bits of it required us to Lara Croft across the stream as the water was too deep. We were stuck there for awhile as we had no idea how to get across till this nice tour guide from another group showed us how to Lara Croft across. We walked till the end where there was a tiny waterfall which was kind of sad looking. The rock formations were really cool and we saw some ostriches but did not ride them because we were cheapos and they looked sad.

The Sand Dunes

We decided to book a tour with the Sinh Tourist to take us to the sand dunes the next day because we could not ride a motorcycle (I really need to learn how). The tour was only 7usd so that was good, but it was more like transport rather than a tour but it did give us adequate time to explore the amazing sand dunes!

The fishing village that had really cool round boats which I secretly want to try to sit in.

We had lots of fun running down the white sand dunes instead of sliding down them. And of course we had to climb back up which was a good workout.

The Red Sand Dunes were not as impressive as the white sand dunes and was way more crowded and had more litter.

The Sand Dunes were definitely one of my favourites on this trip as they were just so cool and kinda randomly situated in a fishing village.
